7 For All Mankind Jeans, Splendid, Ella Moss

So excited my image "Summer Nights" was used by 7 For All Mankind jeans | Splendid | Ella Moss for one of their conferences. Their invites, tote bags, banner and candles had my favorite twinkly shot of Los Angeles on them.
It was such an honor to have them ask to use my image.  And I simply love their clothes! In fact I just went to their sample sale in downtown this past Friday and scored some awesome outfits for my little guy! He is going to be one stylish 5 month old! ;)

Many thanks to Erme for these!! :)

Many thanks to Micah J Photography for allowing me to use these beautiful images from the event.

Gauntlet Gallery San Francisco

If you are in the San Francisco area and are free this Thursday night, stop by Gauntlet Gallery for their Canvas Collection launch party! My photograph "La La Land" is part of their collection and I so wish I could be up there for the opening reception. Looks like it will be a fun time!

Published! Crafty Mag UK

This past summer, Crafty Magazine UK asked me to write & photograph a DIY article on bokeh photography. They specifically wanted a step by step on making a hood to place over your lens and examples using it. Plus a written article on why bokeh photography is so kick-ass and popular. :)

The goal was to turn twinkly lights into cute hearts and stars. I created my own lens hood and tested it out on everything! I used it to shoot sparkly lights around my house, I turned my newborn baby boy into an angel and surrounded him with blissful hearts, and I went to my favorite part of Los Angeles to found what bling I could to transform into shapes.

I was so honored to be asked especially since this magazine is simply GORGEOUS!! The article was published in Issue #7 which came out this month. I just got my copy in the mail today and I am so impressed with this beautifully designed magazine. And they have the coolest projects, I would love to try several of them out! It's not too late to get your copy, there is even a Holiday supplement with the sweetest Christmas projects.
This was such a fun article to shoot and write! Thanks a bunch Crafty Mag! :)

Big Sur

We took a quick trip up the coast to Big Sur this past weekend. What a gorgeous place! We rented the coziest cabin with the cutest fireplace. Even though it took double the travel time because our 4 month old was not down with being in the car seat for more than 2 hours at a time, I am already planning our next family vacation there! Big Sur is the kind of place you never want to leave.
I am so excited to finally get a chance to edit some shots. Here a few from my first round. :)

Apartment Life

I am so incredibly excited about this project. I was approached over the summer about having my work adorn the walls of a brand new apartment complex, Lex on Orange in Glendale. Um yes! I would love for my work to be a part of this gorgeous community!
60+ 20"x 20" signed prints packaged and sent out yesterday!
This opportunity has been a real treat! I can't wait to see my prints hanging once the complex is totally complete. From what I have seen online I think they are doing an amazing job! And it looks like it will be such a cool place to live!

A little figgy for autumn...

I have some old shots of figs that I have been wanting to replace. I finally got around to reshooting the other day. These new ones are just in time for autumn. :)

Are you kidding me my darling?!

Sometimes in life you meet the coolest people and you think, how am I so lucky to know this person? :)
And sometimes you have not yet *met* them in person, only you have a special bond formed throughout the years because of a series of intelligent keystrokes and you still think, how am I so lucky to know this person? And sometimes they can do the nicest thing for you and you want to let them know how touched you are by their kindness.

My sweet adorable girl photographer pal, Laura Evans, lives many many miles from me. She lives in England while here I am in Los Angeles, many time zones away. We have shared tons of chats through email about the ups and downs of being a fine art photographer and life in general. She has been there for me through some of the toughest times of my life:  the devastating heartache of losing a beloved companion and my long journey to motherhood.

This June we were finally able to celebrate, my hubby and I have the most beautiful baby boy! So the other day the postman drops off this huge box and I open it up and it was like Christmas! My girl sent me the sweetest baby care package! Filled with baby boy clothes:

the most adorable peg and mallet toy...

the CUTEST Winnie the Pooh hat, on the CUTEST model ever ;)...

and the frosting on the cake... a SIX-20 Brownie Jr...

which fits in perfectly in my little collection!!

I don't normally strike up friendships through the internet, so that is how truly special this gal is to me. We hope to meet someday soon, hopefully this year when she travels to California but until then, this will have to suffice as my big hug and kiss to her!

And seriously, you have to check out her gorgeous photography! Girl's got mad skills! I can only imagine the kick ass shots she will take when she gets here!

Thank you my sweet darling Laura! I am lucky to know you! Can't wait for you to come to L.A.!
XOXO

My son's first art show!

The West Elm Los Angeles Art Walk was so much fun! The staff were so kind and great to work with! It was awesome to meet so many sweet buyers! I am so grateful to have been invited to participate. And I had a great spot by the window, where I could stare at the delicious Border Grill truck. I absolutely pigged out on some churro tots after the show...they were scrumptious!!
Plus I had the most gorgeous table to set my prints on! Oh man, how I want it in my home!!
Oh and the best part, I realized this morning that my son had attended his first of many art shows! :)
